What a beautiful Volnay this is, with all the flowers and fragrant cherry fruit we associate with this appellation. The flinty energy dances over your palate and gives a wonderful tension on the medium-bodied palate. I love the delicate allspice and licorice character that runs through the very long finish. Drink or hold.
This opulent red is saturated with cherry, blackberry, violet, sandalwood and vanilla flavors. Vibrant acidity and dusty tannins provide structure, while the long aftertaste picks up a hint of orange peel. Best from 2026 through 2039. 950 cases made, 180 cases imported.
