This rich, pure red is generous in its flavors of black cherry, blackberry, plum, fruitcake, earth and spices. The tannins are well-integrated and overall this is harmonious and long, echoing the lush fruit and spice elements. This is all about elegance and finesse, making it approachable now. Merlot. Drink now through 2038. 1,000 cases made, 800 cases imported.
The aromas are enticing, with violets, orange peel and hints of sandalwood. Some clove and white pepper undertones. Medium-bodied with a crunchy and polished tannin structure that’s juicy and savory. Merlot. Slightly chewy, suggesting it needs time to come around. Best after two or three years.
A rich, dark expression of Merlot, this red walks the line between austerity and generosity, the latter gaining ground as this builds to the fine finish.
