This is very structured, with superbly polished tannins that are fine but just slightly austere in the very best way. Blackberry, blueberry, violet and oyster shell aromas. Medium- to full-bodied, solid and driving in the finish, with forest flower, oyster shell and tapenade undertones. Needs three or four years to come together. Best after 2027.
Dark inky color. Aromas of graphite, dark chocolate and bramble fruit enhanced by sweet blond tobacco. The attack is soft and rich due to fruit concentration and a full body. Then it’s dominated by the structure, with firm, austere yet ripe tannins and crisp acidity. Long, savory finish. Drinkable now, but will show its best from the next 10 years.
